Position OverviewWe have an immediate opening for a Space Systems Engineer to support the next generation development of our Advanced Fire Control Cell. The successful candidate will provide technical input and advice to the Program Manager and serve in a Systems Engineering role to support design reviews, test procedures, and provide feedback and recommendations to ensure the vendor's satellites meet SDA's architecture needs.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support and advisory services on complex space systems integration and test efforts
- Oversee systems engineering processes, including cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs
- Support the development of test objectives, plans, schedules, and the execution of the tests, supporting analysis and developing reports
- Work with multiple teams and program offices supporting the coordination, development, and execution of system test plans and integration efforts
- Perform risk management activities, including identification and assessment, and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Develop briefings, written reports, and assessments to be provided to a variety of audiences
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, and math
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with satellite and fire control systems
- TS/SCI clearance
- Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
- Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
- Experience in systems engineering
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Masters degree in science, technology, engineering, and math
- 8 years of experience with satellite fire control systems
- Agile framework experience, including use of Jira/Confluence
- Experience with DoD and IC customers
- Current experience with space systems
