Site Safety & Health Officer Position Overview

Healthworks Safety, LLC is in search of a dedicated Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee safety and health initiatives within the construction sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and safeguarding the welfare of all personnel involved in projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in safety pre-planning and conduct thorough hazard assessments.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams and subcontractors to promote safety.
  • Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for all personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive safety documentation for both employees and contractors.
  • Implement record-keeping and reporting protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the formulation of Activity Hazard Analyses.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Provide essential training and coaching to enhance safety awareness.
  • Issue necessary permits in accordance with safety standards.
  • Accompany personnel during safety inspections to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
  • Completion of the OSHA 30-hour construction industry training within the last 3 years.
  • EM385 40-hour certification is required.
  • Completion of OSHA Course #500 is essential.
  • Demonstrated competency in various safety disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Commitment to ongoing safety education and training.
Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates ordinary ambulatory skills and the capacity to perform various physical tasks. Visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination are essential for success in this position. The individual may be required to sit, reach, talk, and hear as part of their responsibilities.
