This position takes charge of store operations as the "Manager-on-Duty" during the General Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities:
SALES MANAGEMENT:
Acts as the Manager in overseeing staff when the General Manager is unavailable.
Aims for excellence in sales and results.
Ensures compliance with selling standards.
Engages with customers and exemplifies superior customer service and Clienteling skills.
Maximizes sales through effective floor supervision.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
Ensures team members are well-trained in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service operations.
Provides constructive feedback for Sales Associates.
Collaborates with Sales Associates to foster the development of the sales team.
OPERATIONAL INTEGRITY:
Safeguards store payroll by managing wage costs, salaries, and authorized hours.
Maintains control over company assets, including key management, loss prevention strategies, inventory documentation, and adherence to the employee handbook.
Strives for complete accuracy and compliance in cash handling, inventory management, fixtures, and property.
STORE MAINTENANCE:
Assists in executing floor-set and promotional initiatives.
Collaborates with the team to ensure all store standards are upheld.
Understands, supports, and adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Helps manage all company assets (i.e., payroll hours, fixtures, cash, inventory, and property) and ensures all documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
VISUAL MERCHANDISING:
Ensures the effective implementation of merchandising strategies and directives.
Maintains a neat, clean, and organized selling floor that reflects the correct visual image at all times.
Ensures that all displays, fixtures, and visual areas align with current visual direction.
Identifies and communicates product concerns promptly.
Communicates inventory requirements to support business objectives.
Provides timely feedback to stores regarding visual direction in collaboration with the Retail Director.
FASHION INSIGHT:
Embodies the fashion and style ethos of Veronica Beard.
Possesses knowledge of current fashion trends and styles.
Demonstrates an appreciation for a cohesive fashion look.
Understands contemporary styling techniques.
Comfortable with on-camera appearances for promotional purposes (both stills and video).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Adheres to company standards of reliability, including attendance and other requirements.
Participates in Store Meetings.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail management within women's apparel (or a related field).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Strong verbal and communication skills.
Excellent observational skills – capable of identifying and assessing customer and employee behavior, reactions, and overall floor awareness.
Ability to retain and utilize information, including names, merchandise details, policies, and procedures.
Creates a positive working environment that encourages team development and excellence.
Fosters a workplace culture that inspires trust, respect, professionalism, and teamwork to achieve objectives.
