Job Summary

Crown Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electronic Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing and fabricating military, federal, or commercial radio electronic equipment and fiber optic cable systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Fabrication
    • Install and fabricate radio electronic equipment and fiber optic cables for military, federal, or commercial use, with a focus on FAA NAS communications systems.
    • Set up and align VHF and UHF AM radios, and configure radio control equipment (RCE).
    • Follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ICMS NAVAID Facilities (i.e., ILS, RVR, PAPI, ALA) and NEXCOM Radios.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting
    • Conduct a variety of tests using established methods, prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment, record test data, and identify deviations from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
    • Utilize complex test equipment with guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians as needed.
  • Construction and Maintenance
    • Construct components and subunits, adapt standard equipment, or assemble, construct, or deconstruct simple or standard equipment or parts.
    • Service or repair simple instruments or equipment.
    • Assist CETS in the performance of plant construction activities, such as building duct banks, installing conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Utilize manual and power tools, test equipment (multi-meter, ohmmeter, power meter, oscilloscope, etc.) effectively.
    • Conduct initial electronic baseline readings and generate required paperwork such as the Facility Reference Data File (FRDF), following FAA Technical Handbooks.
  • Software and Documentation
    • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel.
    • Connect Telco requirements, including Commercial Telco, RCL, Field Cable, and Fiber Optics.
  • FAA Liaison
    • Interface with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations during radio installations, adhering to engineering packages and field changes.
  • Leadership and Communication
    • Lead site installations involving multiple crews.
    • Communicate effectively with installation teams, management, and stakeholders.
  • Technical Problem Solving
    • Read and interpret engineering and electrical wiring diagrams.
    • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment as part of radio replacement projects or technical refreshes.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods; lift and move objects up to 75 lbs; operate hand trucks or pallet jacks for items weighing up to 350 lbs.
    • Work at heights over 60 feet, climbing towers to install junction boxes, cabling, antennas, lightning protection devices, and grounding systems.
  • General
    • Pass a government background check.
    • Work non-standard hours as required.
    • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
