Position Summary

We are in search of a proficient Electronic Installation Technician who possesses extensive experience in the installation and fabrication of military, federal, or commercial radio electronic systems and fiber optic cable networks. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant knowledge of FAA National Airspace (NAS) communication systems and cabling, playing a pivotal role in the effective installation and upkeep of advanced electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Fabrication:
  • Execute the installation and fabrication of radio electronic systems and fiber optic cables tailored for military, federal, or commercial applications, focusing on FAA NAS communication systems.
  • Set up and calibrate VHF and UHF AM radios, alongside configuring radio control equipment (RCE).
  • Adhere to specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ICMS NAVAID Facilities.
Testing & Troubleshooting:
  • Perform various tests using established methodologies, prepare test specimens, operate equipment, document test data, and identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Utilize sophisticated testing equipment with guidance as necessary.
Construction & Maintenance:
  • Construct components and subunits, adapt standard equipment, or assemble and disassemble equipment as required.
  • Service or repair basic instruments or equipment.
  • Assist in plant construction activities, including building duct banks and installing conduits.
Technical Expertise:
  • Effectively use manual and power tools, as well as testing equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Conduct initial electronic baseline readings and complete necessary documentation.
Software & Documentation:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel.
  • Understand Telco requirements, including Commercial Telco and Fiber Optics.
FAA Liaison:
  • Collaborate with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations during radio installations, ensuring compliance with engineering packages.
Leadership & Communication:
  • Oversee site installations involving multiple teams.
  • Communicate effectively with installation teams and stakeholders.
Technical Problem Solving:
  • Interpret engineering and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods; lift and move objects up to 75 lbs; operate hand trucks or pallet jacks for heavier items.
  • Work at heights exceeding 60 feet, climbing structures to install various equipment.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess an Electronics Degree or a minimum of five years of relevant experience in electronic equipment installation and fabrication. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency with Spectrum Analyzers and Time-domain Reflectometers.
  • Experience in UHF/VHF Radio alignment and Air Traffic communication systems.
  • CDL and experience with trailer towing.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery.
