Position Overview

This role is accountable for executing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures as designated.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts and records test outcomes, quality control measures, maintenance activities, and related corrective actions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Oversees and performs various facets of daily laboratory operations, including specimen collection, sample processing, results reporting, and clerical tasks necessary for maintaining an efficient workflow, tailored to the specific needs of the patient populations served.
  • Engages with hospital staff, volunteers, physicians, and patients regarding specimens and orders received in the laboratory, as well as the communication of results, adhering to laboratory policies and demonstrating sensitivity to customer requirements.
  • Adheres to the policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital, and the healthcare system; comprehends, communicates, and complies with standards established by various regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Ensures the provision of safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; complies with all organizational policies, procedures, and standards while managing resources effectively.
  • Encourages personal professional development by fulfilling mandatory and continuing education requirements; supports departmental objectives that contribute to the overall success of the organization; serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced colleagues.
