The primary responsibility of this role is to function as the evening shift audiovisual technician for Classroom Audio Visual Services. Reporting to the Manager of Classroom Audio Visual Services, this individual will be tasked with facilitating user meetings, conducting system evaluations, performing preventative maintenance, and executing repairs on audiovisual systems across various environments. A comprehensive understanding of audio, video, and control systems is essential. The technician will address reported issues, offer solutions, and support operational needs. This position may also involve overseeing work study students as necessary.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with users and the AV team. This role necessitates the ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team. Key responsibilities include maintaining audiovisual systems, diagnosing issues, updating support tickets, assisting users, managing inventory accurately, and installing components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on audiovisual systems, including testing and cleaning
  • Evaluate each audiovisual system as required or upon request
  • Assist users in resolving issues within designated spaces
  • Create and maintain support tickets
  • Provide assistance and recommendations for instructional technologies
  • Diagnose reported issues in supported environments
  • Supervise work study students
  • Install audiovisual components and perform necessary tests
Required Qualifications:
  • Several years of experience in the audiovisual sector
  • Experience in customer support related to audiovisual systems
  • Fundamental understanding of audiovisual signal flow
  • Experience in troubleshooting audiovisual components and systems
  • Familiarity with web-conferencing and lecture capture technologies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
  • Experience with various computer systems
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, work from ladders or scaffolding, valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the higher education sector
  • Familiarity with Crestron and QSC components
  • Preferred industry certifications (Avixa - CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron, QSC)
  • Basic knowledge of IT networking
Salary Information:

Salary will be commensurate with experience, with a maximum budget of $45,000
