Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Systems Technician to join our team. As an Evening AV Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our audiovisual systems, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for audiovisual systems, including testing and cleaning
  • Meet with end-users to resolve technical issues and provide training on AV systems
  • Effectively create and update help desk tickets for completed tasks
  • Support and recommend in-person, remote, and hybrid instructional solutions for faculty, staff, and students
  • Update and maintain accurate inventory of AV components and perform installations as needed
  • Manage work study students to assist with tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in the audiovisual industry
  • Experience in customer support related to AV systems
  • Basic knowledge of AV signal flow and troubleshooting
  • Experience with various web-conferencing and lecture capture applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Ability to operate comfortably in high-stress environments
  • Experience with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android computer systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently to achieve goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with use and programming of Crestron and QSC components
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Avixa – CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron, QSC)
  • Basic IT networking experience

Salary Information

Salary is commensurate with experience up to an expected budget max of $45,000
