Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Systems Technician to join our team. As an Evening AV Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our audiovisual systems, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative maintenance and testing of AV systems
  • Meet with end-users to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions
  • Effectively create and update help desk tickets
  • Provide support and recommendations for in-person, remote, and hybrid instructional solutions
  • Troubleshoot reported or found issues in supported spaces
  • Update and maintain accurate inventory of AV components
  • Install AV components as needed and perform thorough testing
  • Manage work study students to assist in tasks

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in the audiovisual industry
  • Experience in customer support related to AV systems
  • Basic knowledge of AV signal flow
  • Experience in troubleshooting AV components and systems
  • Experience with various web-conferencing and lecture capture applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Ability to operate comfortably in high-stress environments
  • Experience with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android computer systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently to achieve goals
  • Must be able to move or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work from ladders or scaffolding as required
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with use and programming of Crestron and QSC components
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Avixa – CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron, QSC)
  • Basic IT networking experience

Salary Information

Salary is commensurate with experience up to an expected budget max of $45,000
