Job Title: Fraud Recovery Analyst

At Stock Yards Bank and Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled Fraud Recovery Analyst to join our team. As a Fraud Recovery Analyst, you will play a critical role in minimizing losses to the bank and our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive fraud recovery investigations, including research, written and verbal communications with internal and external customers.
  • Prepare cases for law enforcement or outside collection agencies to ensure all avenues of recovery are met.
  • Utilize bank anomaly detection software to manage recovery cases and document all steps within the recovery process.
  • Manage Bank-to-Bank demand processes, including Indemnification/Hold Harmless Agreements.
  • Identify and report losses due to internal policy/procedure violations.
  • Assist with additional functions within the Fraud Recovery Department, including special projects as required.
  • Communicate with other financial institutions, branch staff, and internal departments to gather additional information.
  • Prepare written communications to other financial institutions, customers, and management.
  • Manage questionable returns and apply risk mitigation efforts to protect the bank and/or the customer.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Assist with quality control of department processes and data entered into the bank's anomaly detection software.
  • Participate in the monthly SCO Deposit Review rotation.
Requirements:
  • College degree required; 3 years of full-time financial institution experience preferred.
  • Three or more years in a related investigation field or previous operational banking experience.
  • Proven strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tactfully communicate with others.
  • Strong foundation of banking policies and procedures, including Reg E, Reg CC, Teller Cashing policy, and other operational banking functions.
  • Strong financial literacy knowledge.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently prioritize in a multi-task environment to meet deadlines and department goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Above-average decision/judgment-making skills.
  • Ability to define problems and apply purposeful viable solutions.
  • Logical reasoning skills.
  • Strong data and analytical skills.
  • Above-average experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to think, remember, learn new information, and apply cognitive data to job functions.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting the majority of the time with limited walking and standing. All work occurs indoors and within regular working hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
