About the Role

Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Recovery Specialist to join our tissue recovery team in Louisville. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals in need of organ and tissue transplants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the recovery, preservation, storage, and transportation of donated corneas, bone, and other tissues and organs under highly sterile conditions.
  • Provide technical support in organ recovery cases.
  • Perform non-technical duties such as public and professional education.
  • Work rotating 24-hour on-call shifts to facilitate the recovery of tissue.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior healthcare, pathology, or embalming experience required.
  • Must be certified as a Tissue Bank Specialist within 18 months of eligibility for the exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education or training in a medical, biology, or related field.
  • Prior experience as a surgical assistant, tissue recovery, or tissue banking specialist.
