Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Land Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field work in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and regulations, and our own operating principles.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Right of Way or Surface Land Agent in land acquisition in the US. They will possess knowledge of applicable acts, guides, and regulations in various US states, as well as a valid driver's license.

The Land Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for communicating with clients and Land Solutions workers, Project Coordinators, and Managers, while ensuring timelines are met and field files are accurate. They will also be responsible for conducting field work as required by Project Manager and client, including land and/or easement acquisition in the ROW, energy, and other renewable industries.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a strong understanding of land acquisition principles and practices, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field work in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and regulations, and our own operating principles.
  • Communicate with clients and Land Solutions workers, Project Coordinators, and Managers.
  • Ensure timelines are met and field files are accurate.
  • Conduct field work as required by Project Manager and client, including land and/or easement acquisition in the ROW, energy, and other renewable industries.
  • Communicate with landowners, the Land Solutions team, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with office work as required by Team Lead Admin, Project Coordinator, and/or management.
  • Regularly report updates to Administrator, other Land Agents, and Project Coordinators and/or Management.
  • Respond to deadlines, changes in project areas, project scope, and assignment locations.
  • Assist with evaluation of new initiatives, procedures, etc. to define opportunity for improvements.
  • Protect your safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
  • Ensure proper use of safety equipment, clothing, and devices, and participate in any required training programs.
  • Comply with Land Solutions policies and procedures, applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Right of Way or Surface Land Agent in land acquisition in the US.
  • Title work, renewables, power, transmission experience required.
  • Knowledge of applicable acts, guides, and regulations in various US states.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of surface title and abstracts.
  • Daily use of personal phone, computer, and vehicle.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft, including Word, Excel, MS Teams, Sharepoint.
  • Ability to travel and stay out of town for long durations, if required.
