Field Construction Evaluator

Intertek is actively seeking Field Construction Evaluators to enhance our Building & Construction division. Our team specializes in providing assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services, delivering Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. We support the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) sectors with comprehensive capabilities both in laboratories and on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

The Field Construction Evaluators will assist in the Building and Construction sector by monitoring contractors on construction sites and conducting essential tests on soil, asphalt, and concrete in the field, guided by other technicians or engineering professionals. This ensures that testing, sampling, and inspection align with project specifications. All observations and test data will be documented using mobile devices for prompt transmission to Project Managers for assessment.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Entry-level candidates or Construction Technicians with NICET, ACI, or ICC certifications.

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly wage for this position is $30.00. Compensation packages are tailored based on individual qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors. Essential Duties:

  • Conduct various tests on construction materials, including asphalt, soil, and concrete, utilizing materials-testing equipment.
  • Perform field compaction testing, oversee paving operations, and conduct batch plant inspections.
  • Interpret construction documents to ascertain project details and specifications.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including daily reports, test results, and timesheets, in a timely manner.
  • Record and communicate test results after performing calculations and creating graphical representations.
  • Engage with engineers, staff members, agency representatives, contractors, and property owners both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adjustments as required.
  • Follow construction site safety protocols and promote a secure working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Background in engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • Must demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling, stretching, sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable driving record are required.
  • Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
