Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team at Starts Align LLC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general accounting and experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Controller in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial reports, statements, and tax return filings.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to ensure effective results.
  • Provide direction and assistance to employees related to accounting, billing, payables, and payroll inquiries.
  • Recommend policies and procedures relating to financial and business practices of the company.
  • Collaborate and provide support to the team during six-month review and annual audit.
  • Review and electronically file 1096/1099 prepared by the accounts payable supervisor/manager.
  • Perform bank reconciliation for multiple companies.
  • Provide financial data to the corporate proposal team as needed.
  • Serve as a backup for monthly/quarterly sales tax filings and HUT tax returns.
  • Assist with daily cash management and process wire transfers.
  • Perform accounting responsibilities in accordance with GAAP.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience.
  • Experience in preparing WIP (Work in Progress) schedules.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and experience with internal controls.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently achieve required deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
