Position Overview

Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is in search of a qualified and detail-oriented Construction Materials Testing Technician to enhance our operations. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity and compliance of construction materials through rigorous testing and inspection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field and laboratory assessments of materials including asphalt, soil, aggregate, and concrete.
  • Utilize specialized laboratory equipment for testing and analysis.
  • Gather samples for evaluation and perform calculations to verify the accuracy of test results.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing test outcomes and inspection observations for client review.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing apparatus to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and best practices related to materials testing and quality assurance.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss materials testing and quality control matters.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction coordination or management.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document test results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a background check and adherence to driving policy.
Preferred Skills
  • Certifications such as ACI and Radiation Safety.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in Windows-based applications.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology or construction management.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO Resource and CCRL accreditation.
  • Specific certifications in ACI Strength Testing, Embankment, Asphalt, and Aggregate.
Work Environment

This position involves a mix of office and outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions. Field inspections may occur at construction sites or public works, requiring occasional work in challenging environments.
