Job Overview

The successful candidate will possess a solid background in the field of construction materials testing and inspection. This role involves supporting various projects related to construction, transportation, and surveying through systematic field inspections at different stages of project execution to ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field and laboratory assessments of materials including asphalt, soil, aggregate, and concrete.
  • Utilize laboratory testing equipment for construction materials.
  • Gather samples for analysis and perform calculations to verify the accuracy of test results.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing test outcomes and inspection observations, contributing to client documentation.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and best practices in materials testing and inspection.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss materials testing and quality assurance topics.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction coordination or management.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and blueprints effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to accurately document test results and findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as ACI and Radiation Safety.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Windows-based computer applications.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology or construction management.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO Resource and CCRL accreditation.
  • Certifications in ACI Strength Testing, Embankment, Asphalt, and Aggregate testing.
Work Environment

The position involves working in both a climate-controlled office and outdoor settings, subject to various weather conditions. Fieldwork is essential for inspecting land use developments and construction sites. Occasional exposure to excavations, traffic, and potentially hazardous materials may occur.
