Job Title: Space Planner

Employment Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Location: Hybrid, with onsite requirements of 30-40% of the time at the Washington D.C. Agency HQ

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for a Moderate Risk Public Trust Background Check (HSPD-12)

Key Responsibilities:

The Space Planner will provide comprehensive support for space planning, design, and analytical services related to managed or owned spaces. Responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing client space assignments to ensure effective utilization and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  2. Assisting in the development of interior projects that align with the client's branding and workplace innovation strategies.
  3. Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accurate space documentation and adherence to design standards.
  4. Documenting workflows and processes related to space planning.
  5. Managing various aspects of project planning, including design, construction, and post-occupancy evaluations.
  6. Leading furniture programs for government agencies, including procurement advisory services and standards development.
  7. Preparing and maintaining As-Built Drawings to track space utilization.
  8. Updating record drawings using AutoCAD software.
  9. Conducting site visits to validate as-built information and assess changes in space configuration.
  10. Evaluating requests for space assignments and analyzing personnel and equipment needs.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in architecture or engineering services.
  • Expertise in commercial and government office space planning, including knowledge of GSA space assignment policy and BOMA standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to interpret construction documents.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and ADA requirements.
  • Working knowledge of LEED criteria.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
  • Ability to learn new planning and design software.
