Key Responsibilities:

  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance the dining experience.
  • Record orders accurately and input them into the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring seamless communication with the kitchen.
  • Retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as food orders, to guests in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of the time of day or level of busyness.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the assigned station and service areas.
  • Guide the activities of the assigned Busperson to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Clear each course following procedures laid down in the departmental manual.
  • Remove soiled wares from tables and transport them to the dishwashing area.
  • Present guest checks and process payments through the Cashier.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies/procedures.
  • Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart.
  • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Complete closing side duties, including properly storing reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning equipment, restocking items, removing dirty linen, and resetting tables for the next meal period.

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years' experience as a fine dining server.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Prioritize, organize, and follow up on tasks.
  • Clear thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand guests' service needs.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certificate.
  • California Food Handler Card.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert physical effort in transporting 40 pounds.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Reach up and down.
  • Remain stationary at times throughout work periods.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers.
