Position Overview

This part-time role requires 20-27 hours per week, including weekend shifts, typically spanning 2 to 3 days between Sunday and Thursday from 4:00am to 10:00am.

The primary responsibility includes conducting inventory assessments, managing damaged or defective merchandise, processing returns to vendors, minimizing salvage, securing return authorizations, and re-packaging sellable items. Collaborates across departments to fulfill related inventory management duties.

Learn to access and interpret production and financial performance reports for your department. Recognize the link between consistent execution and its positive impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Collaborate proactively with department teams to track, plan, coordinate, and execute inventory counts as prescribed by the Home Office within designated timelines. Adhere to established counting processes and procedures. Secure return authorizations from vendors, manage vendor chargebacks, and package and ship merchandise returns in accordance with vendor policies. Maintain accurate inventory status for all damaged, defective, and returned items. Evaluate breakage logs for leaking, spoiled, and broken items and process them accordingly. Manage freezer and dairy damages. Conduct daily safety inspections in the absence of RTV. Understand and administer the company's community donation initiatives regarding salvage and donation merchandise. Implement merchandise protection protocols for designated items. Review daily return reports, manage merchandise recalls, and process tire and battery returns. Re-package sellable items using appropriate sealing and shrink-wrapping techniques. Ensure the department remains organized and clean, adhering to safety and filing standards. Enter weekly front door recoveries into the case management system as directed. Uphold all club policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments as needed. Regular and predictable attendance is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Qualifications

Successful completion of required training and certification processes. Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Basic math skills are essential. Must be at least 18 years old.

Work Environment

Most of the time involves moving about on hard surfaces, with frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Regularly requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may involve lifting heavier items with assistance. Proficiency in using a pallet jack is necessary. Exposure to both indoor and outdoor temperatures, including occasional extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers. Frequent exposure to hazardous materials. Forklift training is a plus.

In accordance with Pay Transparency regulations, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we consider a variety of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, education, experience, and qualifications. The starting pay range for this position is $14.00.
