Job Overview

Blue Bell Country Club is in search of dedicated seasonal landscape maintenance technicians to ensure the upkeep of our grounds.

A Landscape Maintenance Technician is tasked with the operation and upkeep of landscaping machinery as well as construction equipment, while also being responsible for the maintenance and repair of the campus grounds, golf course, irrigation systems, pathways, and parking facilities. This role requires a hands-on approach to various related tasks.

Physical strength and agility are essential for operating tractor-mounted machinery, lawn mowers, and other manual or powered tools. The position demands the ability to bend, stoop, twist, lift, and carry various items, including trash, bags, containers, and equipment. Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand or walk for extended periods. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and irregular shifts, is necessary.

  • Self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are crucial.
  • Dependable transportation to the workplace is required, along with punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
  • Willingness to work weekends is essential to prepare the golf course for play.
  • Utilization of hand mowers, riding mowers, and string trimmers around greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough areas.
  • Responsibilities include raking, weeding, and edging bunkers.
  • Grounds maintenance tasks such as soil preparation, seeding, sodding, cart path grading, and irrigation installation and repair.
  • Ability to learn and operate grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, and utility carts.
  • Course setup tasks, including moving tees and changing pin locations.
  • Mowing tees and fairways, as well as walk mowing collars.
  • Filling divots on the course and practice areas.
  • Trimming irrigation heads as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Returning all equipment to designated areas and maintaining cleanliness in maintenance zones.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and agility are necessary to perform these tasks effectively.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance is preferred.
  • Availability for weekends, evening shifts, and major holidays is required.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, and policies is mandatory.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
  • Punctuality and a professional appearance in uniform are expected.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as perform tasks involving pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
