Job Overview

Blue Bell Country Club is in search of dedicated seasonal landscape maintenance technicians to ensure the upkeep of our beautiful grounds.

A Landscape Maintenance Technician is tasked with the operation and upkeep of landscaping and construction machinery, as well as the maintenance and repair of campus landscapes, golf courses, irrigation systems, pathways, and parking facilities. This role involves various related responsibilities as needed. Proficiency in handling grounds maintenance equipment is essential for this position.

Physical strength and agility are necessary to operate tractor-mounted machinery, lawn mowers, and other manual or powered tools. The role requires bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, and carrying items such as trash, bags, containers, and equipment. Working conditions may involve prolonged periods of standing or walking and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be prepared to work flexible shifts and irregular hours during adverse weather.

  • Self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are essential.
  • Reliable transportation to the workplace is required, along with punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
  • Willingness to work weekends as necessary to prepare the golf course for play is expected.
  • Operates various mowers, including hand mowers and riding mowers, on and around greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough areas.
  • Responsibilities include raking, weeding, and edging bunkers.
  • Engages in grounds maintenance tasks such as soil preparation, seeding, sodding, cart path grading, irrigation installation and repair, hand watering, grounds cleanup, and light janitorial duties.
  • Ability to learn to operate grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility carts, and hand tools.
  • Involves course setup, including moving tees and changing pin locations.
  • Mowing of tees and fairways, as well as walk mowing collars.
  • Filling divots on the course and practice facilities.
  • Trimming irrigation heads as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Responsible for returning all equipment to the designated maintenance area and maintaining cleanliness in the maintenance zones.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and agility are required to perform the aforementioned tasks.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance is preferred.
  • Availability to work weekends, evening shifts, and major holidays is necessary.
  • Adherence to all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules is mandatory.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
  • Punctuality in arriving in full uniform with a neat and professional appearance is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, carry, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch is necessary.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
