Fire Safety Systems Technicians are vital in maintaining the safety and functionality of our Smart Buildings. Your responsibilities will encompass the servicing, upkeep, installation, programming, initiation, and commissioning of cutting-edge fire alarm and sprinkler systems, which include fire safety measures, mass notification systems, detectors, and field peripherals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the commissioning of new fire and life safety systems during construction to ensure seamless integration.
  • Conduct testing and inspections of existing fire and life safety systems.
  • Collaborate with mentors, Lead Technicians, and Team Leaders to plan work effectively.
  • Complete commissioning tasks within designated timelines.
  • Accurately document time and expenses.
  • Be available for overtime as required.
  • Perform thorough testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
  • Quickly respond to, troubleshoot, and execute necessary repairs to maintain system performance.
  • Provide reports on completed activities, deferred tasks, or issues requiring further action or materials.
  • Identify code compliance and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Work collaboratively with mentors, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated electro-mechanical aptitude through prior experience or education, along with proficiency in PC/software skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with network components and management of workstation and server operating systems.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, and working in various conditions; capable of using hand tools, laptops, email, smartphones, and tablets; able to differentiate wire types/colors and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; an Associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.
  • 6+ months of experience in installing commercial Fire/Life Safety equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend design and construction documents.
