Position Overview: The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of various buildings and grounds within the organization. This role involves detailed sanitation of offices, classrooms, and public restrooms, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily cleaning tasks and periodic maintenance as directed by the Facilities Services Supervisor.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all assigned areas.
  • Respond to emergency situations as an Essential Personnel member, ensuring operational continuity during critical times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and transport equipment and supplies weighing up to 45 lbs., including navigating stairs and various workspaces.
  • Ability to ascend ladders up to 6 feet and manage multiple flights of stairs.
  • Proficient in operating commercial cleaning equipment such as rotary buffers, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, and extractors.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong comprehension of verbal and written instructions, including the ability to follow simple diagrams.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with two-way radios.
  • No prior experience necessary; however, previous custodial experience is advantageous.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
