The Facilities Maintenance Technician I plays a crucial role in supporting campus operations by managing the relocation of furniture, equipment, and materials, as well as the collection and transportation of various recyclable materials, including paper, plastics, cardboard, and electronic waste.
This role collaborates closely with the Assistant Supervisor of Support Services to optimize routes and ensure efficient service delivery to the Tulane community.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Possession of a valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver's license (excluding corrective lens requirements) and compliance with the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy for driver authorization.
- Capability to understand and communicate instructions effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Physical ability to lift weights up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with safety protocols associated with the operation and handling of large commercial vehicles, recycling machinery, and material handling.
- Ability to work autonomously and follow directives and specifications provided by supervisors.
- Willingness to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Commercial Driver's License.
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and falls under pay grade 22.
