Wastewater Utility Worker Equipment Operator III

Job Description
Chesapeake VA Public Utilities Department Wastewater Collections/Utility WorkerKey Responsibilities:
- Perform semi-skilled work in service, maintenance, and/or repair of gravity and force main sanitary sewer lines.
- Assist in the unstopping of sanitary sewer mainline and service laterals.
- Operate a dump truck and other light to medium duty equipment.
- Transport materials, tools, equipment, and personnel to job sites and remove debris or other materials from job sites.
- Work with crews repairing sewer gravity mains, force mains, and concrete and asphalt work.
- Operate specialized motor equipment to support Chesapeake City operations.
- Perform operational test and inspections of facility systems and components.
- Inspect motor equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Complete job-related logs and forms, interpret schedules, and provide information.
- Valid Class A CDL and tanker endorsement.
- Ability to work in emergency situations due to weather or operational issues.
- Some night work may be required.
