Maintenance Technician III

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team at Sumitomo Machinery Corp of America. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC machines, assembly equipment, and facilities equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Connect power, air, and water lines to equipment and test units to evaluate mechanical operation
- Use alignment and measuring instruments to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts
- Replace defective parts on machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards in our manufacturing and assembly environment
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement in the assigned areas
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Technical Associates degree desired but not required
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in operation/maintenance of CNC machines, process industry electrical/mechanical controls, or robotic machine operation/maintenance
- Understanding and interpretation of control schematics, mechanical, and electrical engineering drawings
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in manufacturing equipment
- Competent understanding of welding and fabrication, plumbing, and electric installations
- Understanding of mechanical alignment fundamentals
- Basic computer skills, including understanding of MS Office
Work Environment:
Duties are performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist, bend, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
