At Vulcan Materials, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment loaders to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant, and safely load customers' trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion Safety: Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Operate Mobile Equipment Loaders: Operates mobile equipment loaders to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant, and safely load customers' trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits.
  • Monitor Materials: Maintain an adequate feed of materials and maintain stockpiles. Visually inspect materials for compliance with specifications.
  • Perform Inspections and Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately completes daily mobile equipment reports. Observe the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in operating loaders and dozers in a plant environment.
  • Functional and Safety Knowledge: Must have a solid knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the equipment and specifications of different finished materials.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Ready to Drive: Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Hourly Range: The hourly range for this role is between $21.63 and $27.65. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
