Job Opportunity

American Air Filter International is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven District Sales Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell our products to existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based sales approach, highlighting the advantages and value proposition of our solutions.
  • Demonstrate products to customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Manage existing distribution and direct end-user accounts, ensuring timely and effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to maintain current and generate new business.
  • Make telephone calls, in-person sales calls, and presentations to existing and prospective customers, researching sources for developing prospective customers and gathering information to determine their potential.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers, expediting the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical services, analyzing the territory/market's potential and determining the value of existing and prospective customers to the company.
  • Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers, highlighting sales profile, share, and value opportunities.
  • Identify advantages and compare products, planning and organizing personal sales strategy to maximize 'return on time invested' for the territory/market segment.
  • Provide management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products, staying current with product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and marketing trends and activities.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions as requested, traveling approximately 30% of the time.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with high-value added product selling, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Understanding and experience with channel management, including distribution models and end-user motivations.
  • Experience selling to mechanical contractors, facility managers, general contractors, and C-level management is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts or value-added benefits to achieve buy-in from diverse teams to meet sales targets and profitability.
  • A history of consistently delivering on expectations for growth and profitability must be demonstrated.
  • A team player with a natural way of influencing, both internally and externally, and a self-starter with a creative eye to implement marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • 1-2 years prior selling experience and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Business or a related field are preferred.
