About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team at M1 Support Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex aircraft and equipment maintenance tasks, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and equipment, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components, as well as engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems, interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
  • Work in a highly cross-utilization/trained environment, performing aircraft and equipment maintenance on other assigned MDS aircraft.
  • Perform at a moderate level of competency in one or more of the following areas: repair and reclamation, egress, electro/environmental, avionics, wheel & tire, sheet metal, composite repair, propulsion, fuels, AGE, armament, munitions, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and pneudraulics.
  • Maintain aircraft and support equipment forms records in accordance with AF procedures, utilizing AF Information Systems and forms as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of seven years performing aircraft structural and metals technology maintenance functions in a military environment and attainment of an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) is required.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance effort.
  • The incumbent must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.
  • The incumbent must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the security clearance level as mandated by the government customer.
  • Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
  • Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
Working Conditions
  • Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
  • Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
  • May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
  • May be exposed to contaminants.
  • May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders.
  • Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise.
  • Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
