Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with store personnel to address invoicing and exemption inquiries, serving as a knowledgeable resource.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain sales tax exemption documentation, enhancing compliance efforts.
  • Analyze system-generated reports to confirm the correct tax amounts charged to customers and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Provide training and support to staff regarding sales tax exemptions and use tax reporting.
  • Conduct tax research and assist with audits from various taxing authorities.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite; familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, OneSource, or similar tax determination engines is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
