About the Role:

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is a key leadership position at UHS, responsible for collaborating with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure the highest quality of patient care. This role requires a strong clinical background, with a minimum of five years of experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting. The ACNO will work closely with the CNO to develop and implement nursing practices that meet the highest standards of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CNO to develop and implement nursing practices that meet the highest standards of care.
  • Monitor and assess facility-wide patient nursing care to ensure quality and safety.
  • Act as the hospital's senior nursing official in the absence of the CNO.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be available to provide support and guidance to nursing staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited program in nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • At least two years of direct experience in management, leadership, staff education, and nursing practices.
