Role Summary
We are in search of a qualified professional to join our order processing team, responsible for delivering mechanical design specifications and production solutions to our clients. This role involves creating mechanical design specifications and drawings for BPUs and production lines utilizing advanced 3D CAD software, as well as providing support in mechanical design and related areas such as sales and issue resolution.

This position is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that delivers cutting-edge processing solutions. You will report to the US Team Lead for the Mechanical Engineering division.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing mechanical design specifications and drawings for BPUs and production lines using CAD software.
  • Offering mechanical design expertise to support sales, issue resolution, PLC, and PC as needed.
  • Engaging in potential customer interactions as required.
  • Leading internal initiatives to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for technical challenges.
  • Communicating with the order team regarding status updates and changes as necessary.
  • Planning projects into phases and ensuring timely fulfillment of project milestones within budget.
  • Driving productivity improvements through the use of reusable solutions and standard component lists.
  • Managing scope changes and proposing variation orders (VOs).
  • Conducting lessons learned sessions and contributing to the enhancement of processes, templates, and tools.
  • Training and mentoring junior technical staff members.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in an international setting and leveraging resources across the Tetra Pak organization.
  • Providing pre-project sales support as needed.
  • Effectively communicating ideas and clarifying the purpose and importance of major points.

Qualifications
We believe you possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food processing or regulated industry.
  • Experience with large capital equipment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, along with experience in 2D/3D CAD.
  • Competence in MS Office applications (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret process and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs).
  • Capability to design food processing equipment tailored to client specifications, applying engineering principles and industry knowledge.
  • Experience in leading teams to design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Proficiency in sourcing components independently.
  • Experience working on large assemblies, subassemblies, and detailing part designs with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to investigate equipment failures and challenges.
  • Skills in researching and analyzing customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to assess feasibility, costs, or maintenance requirements.
  • Strong problem-finding and problem-solving skills related to mechanical design issues and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and weldment symbol requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining project documentation and information from clients and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
