Position Overview

Introduction

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Center Coordinator to become a vital part of our organization. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the patient care center, ensuring efficient handling of incoming communications and providing essential information to patients. Reporting directly to the Patient Service Center Manager, the role includes responsibilities such as managing appointment scheduling, maintaining provider availability, and ensuring that all office equipment functions properly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the transfer of calls to and from the answering service as required
  • Inform the answering service of any updates to physician schedules
  • Handle emergency calls in accordance with established protocols
  • Route calls to the correct department as necessary
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and collect pertinent patient details
  • Maintain provider schedules and ensure the functionality of office equipment
  • Update the telephone directory and provider availability
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Assist with appointment notifications and modifications
  • Carry out additional tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred background in customer service and public relations
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role as a switchboard operator
  • Excellent telephone communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure
