Position Overview: Survey Field Operations Leader

This role involves utilizing an array of surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors to assist in determining elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates. The position requires outdoor work throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions. Candidates must be capable of transitioning between various standing and sitting positions and should be able to lift weights of up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally (with assistance).

Work Schedule

The work schedule typically spans Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required during peak seasons. Employees commence their workday from home using a company vehicle.

Service Area

Team members have the flexibility to work remotely from designated areas as directed by the field manager.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate self-management, responsibility, safety awareness, and a preference for independent work.
  • Accountable for executing tasks assigned by the Field Manager to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for downloading and uploading survey data to the appropriate files within the computer network or field data collector.
  • Mark points of measurement with elevation, station numbers, or other identifying markers.
  • Clear brush and trees from the survey line as necessary.
  • Maintain data quality in the field; independently perform basic calculations required for surveys.
  • Oversee equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensuring the vehicle is stocked with necessary equipment and supplies each morning and that any unused items are returned at the end of the shift.
  • Adhere strictly to Exacta's policies, procedures, and work directives.
  • Address internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, clients, and other stakeholders related to Exacta's services and overall operations.
  • Perform all assigned duties to meet business needs in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.

Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of relevant experience in the surveying field is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License and a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
  • Proficient in operating instruments necessary for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, GPS).
  • Skilled in the independent application and use of job-related software and cloud-based solutions.
