Job Summary

Serve as a technical expert within the Power Electronics Department at Johnson Controls, responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining power electronics products and systems for chiller applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the best techniques, procedures, and theories for developing power electronics products and systems.
  • Create compliance procedures for electrical/electronic circuitry designs.
  • Design electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements.
  • Participate in preliminary design and systems architecture, and conduct analysis of cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems.
  • Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on power electronics products and systems.
  • Travel to visit customers, factories, vendors, and professional conferences as business needs dictate.
  • Comply with Johnson Controls' Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Be flexible to support customers and business.
  • Support hybrid work from the New Freedom PA facility.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically or internationally.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics and 0-2 years of experience in power electronics or electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience in power electronics or electrical engineering.
  • Degree with focus in Power Electronics.
  • Strong experience in power electronics controls.
  • Strong experience in advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber.
