Electrical Engineer Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer Intern to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful strategic projects and gain valuable hands-on career experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and test of electronic Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies
  • Develop intelligent embedded control systems for Variable Speed Drives (VSD) using MCU, FPGA, and tools like MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Conduct performance testing of power electronics control using Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) systems
  • Provide support to lead electrical engineers in tasks such as VSD dyno testing and chiller testing
  • Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures
Requirements:
  • Full-time student enrolled in a four-year college or university
  • Currently enrolled in at least junior year within an engineering curriculum
  • Graduate students with VSD control background preferred
  • Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average
  • Broad technical background in areas of electrical engineering, VSD control system development
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
