Job Summary

As a Strategic Procurement Manager at AAR, you will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to the procurement of parts, materials, and supplies to support the efficient operation of the company. This role requires a thorough understanding of supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment, including job costing.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities related to procurement of material beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.

• Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, confirm delivery, and maintain necessary records.

• Monitor minimum/maximum levels of inventory and supplies to assure optimum on-hand quantities to support repair and new business needs.

• Communicate with shop, engineering, accounting, inspection, shipping/receiving, finance, and customer service personnel.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or relevant years of successful experience at a professional level in purchasing.

• Thorough knowledge of supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment, including job costing.

• Microsoft Office basics and EAP Software Familiarization.

• Ability to use basic accounting principles in relation to inventory and cost.

• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and vendors.

• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and prepare analytical reports.

• Lead, mentor, and coach.

• Learn industry-related software.
