Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team at ITW Shakeproof Industrial. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a crucial role in developing tooling requirements, designing and maintaining manufacturing processes, and constructing and altering jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and understand specifications and tolerances to ensure high-quality products.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, including surface grinders, lathes, and arbor presses, to produce precision parts.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to visualize end-products and ensure accurate production.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to handle projects and meet deadlines.
  • Construct and maintain dies and tooling, supporting other departments with Tool Room knowledge.
  • Setup and operate all conventional Tool Room equipment to ensure efficient production.
  • Repair and maintain complicated dies and construct new tooling to meet production needs.
  • Maintain inventory of production tooling in the tool-room to ensure efficient production.
  • Assist Manufacturing departments and Engineering with tool design and suggestions to improve production efficiency.
  • Implement quality improvement measures to ensure high-quality products.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Machine Tooling degree or certificate desired.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with precision machining, including surface grinders, lathes, and arbor presses.
  • Proficient in basic reading, writing, and math, including fractions and decimals.
  • Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery.
  • Some computer skills, including MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Windows-based software.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to lift/pull up to forty (40) pounds to meet production needs.
