Job Summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Patient Liaison to join our team. As a Pharmacy Patient Liaison, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, providers, and hospital staff to provide exceptional patient care and support.
  • Recruit and retain patients in our specialty pharmacy services, driving growth and revenue through effective sales and recruitment functions.
  • Provide personalized customer service, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and advocating for patients' needs.
  • Work closely with patients to deliver a full continuum of medication adherence support, utilizing various tools and applications.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, care teams, and ancillary support to ensure seamless transitions of patient care.
  • Resolve high-level patient care issues and demonstrate resourcefulness in the face of challenges.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or G.E.D. required; AA or BA preferred.
  • Currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the Board of Pharmacy in Massachusetts.
  • 4-5 years of pharmacy experience; Pharmacy Interns must be in their 2nd year.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate professionally over the phone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to provide superb personalized customer service and advocate for patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of transplant, hepatitis C, infectious diseases, oncology, and/or other specialty medication therapies.
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Experience with submission of prior authorization requests to third-party payors.
  • Familiarity with 340B drug program and ACO hospital models.
