Tenant Relations Specialist

The Low Income Housing Institute is seeking a skilled Tenant Relations Specialist to join our team. As a Tenant Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for fostering a positive community environment, ensuring compliance with funding sources and laws, and managing the day-to-day operations of our properties. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about affordable housing and community development.
About the Role:
You will work closely with residents, site staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of our programs. Your duties will include tenant relations, lease administration, financial management, property maintenance, and social services coordination. You will also assist with training new program coordinators and contribute to the development of new initiatives. You will be responsible for screen new residents, develop and maintain relationships with funders, supervise site staff, and apply knowledge of conflict resolution, landlord-tenant law, and HUD guidelines. You will also maintain accurate records, hold regular tenant meetings, and coordinate community events.
Responsibilities:

* Compliance with funder agreements and reporting requirements
Requirements:
* 2+ years experience in property management, delivery of housing services, community organizing, or administrative roles
* Demonstrated commitment to addressing societal needs and empowering low-income or special needs individuals
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to learn contract-reporting requirements and manage multiple tasks
* Basic mathematical aptitude and proficiency in computer software
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $23.60-$29.56 per hour, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and sick leave. Employees accrue 118 hours of vacation time during the first year and receive 11 paid holidays (prorated for part-time employees).
