Key Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a qualified pharmacist to contribute to our pharmacy team. The role involves:

  1. Preparing medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, while identifying any therapeutic incompatibilities.
  2. Dispensing medications in accordance with established procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements.
  3. Assessing the identity, strength, and purity of medications.
  4. Maintaining accurate records, including pharmacy files, patient profiles, and inventories of controlled substances.
  5. Monitoring drug therapies and providing guidance on interventions as necessary.
  6. Overseeing pharmacy operations by organizing and directing the workflow of pharmacy technicians, verifying their preparation and labeling of medications.
  7. Managing workflow processes that include pharmacist verification, quality assurance, and delivery checks.
  8. Utilizing computer systems to screen for potential drug interactions and ensuring patient safety.
  9. Providing pharmacological information and counseling to healthcare professionals and patients regarding drug therapies.
  10. Enhancing the pharmacological knowledge of staff through participation in clinical programs and training initiatives.
  11. Ensuring compliance with state and federal drug laws, maintaining records for controlled substances, and following proper disposal protocols for outdated medications.
  12. Adhering to infection-control protocols to protect patients and staff.
  13. Meeting performance expectations and supporting departmental goals.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Licenses/Certifications: North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE), along with any state-specific licenses as required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably within healthcare, senior living, or long-term care environments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
