Our IT department at Avient is in search of a Finance Specialist to collaborate with a skilled group of professionals in designing and constructing a comprehensive finance application ecosystem as part of our extensive ERP rollout.

In this position, you will partner with IT and business stakeholders to assess our existing finance application framework, create a revitalized application structure, and execute the implementation of the newly crafted solution.

This role requires proactive collaboration with internal business partners and IT colleagues to devise solutions that enable Avient to meet its growth objectives, enhance our Great Place to Work certification, and fulfill our sustainability commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a diverse project team to implement S/4HANA, the latest iteration of SAP, which is set to replace multiple SAP ECC platforms.
  • Analyzes current business processes, system practices, and IT designs, recommending new, improved, and efficient solutions.
  • Assists in identifying business requirements, encouraging business partners to pinpoint essential needs for both current and future states, and translating those requirements into functional and system specifications.
  • Works closely with business partners and consultants to ensure alignment of efforts within the S/4 landscape and related applications with key project initiatives.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to identify test cases, executing related scripts, documenting results, and collaborating across teams to redesign processes as necessary.
  • Acts as a technical lead on specific components of the S/4 implementation, managing subprojects of small to medium size and complexity.
  • Supports all phases of the S/4 implementation, including Design, Build, Testing, Training, and Deployment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required.
  • 5+ years of experience as an S/4HANA IT analyst with a focus on Finance is required.
  • Proven expertise with SAP Group Reporting is required.
  • Experience integrating S/4HANA with other finance applications such as Concur, Quantum, and OneSource is required.
  • Technical knowledge of S/4HANA Finance modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets is required.
Additional Qualifications

  • Strong collaboration skills within a team, across various IT functions, and with global business partners are essential.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing setting with cross-border transactions and multiple legal entities is preferred.
  • Experience with a global S/4 implementation involving multiple business units and legal entities is preferred.
