Our IT department at Avient is eager to find a Finance Specialist who will collaborate with a skilled group of professionals to architect and develop a finance application ecosystem as part of our extensive ERP rollout.

In this capacity, you will engage with both IT and business stakeholders to assess our existing finance application framework, conceptualize a revitalized application structure, and execute the implementation of the newly crafted solution.

This position requires proactive collaboration with internal business partners and IT colleagues to devise solutions that empower Avient to meet its growth objectives, enhance our recognition as a Great Place to Work, and fulfill our sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a diverse project team to implement S/4HANA, the latest iteration of SAP, which is set to replace multiple SAP ECC systems.
  • Analyzes current business practices, system functionalities, and IT architectures, recommending innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Assists in identifying business needs, encouraging partners to pinpoint essential requirements for both present and future states, and translating those needs into functional and system specifications.
  • Works closely with business partners and consultants to ensure alignment of the S/4 landscape and related applications with critical project initiatives.
  • Partners with business associates to identify testing scenarios, executing related scripts, documenting outcomes, and collaborating across teams to refine processes as necessary.
  • Acts as a technical lead for specific components of the S/4 implementation, managing subprojects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Supports all stages of the S/4 implementation, including Design, Build, Testing, Training, and Deployment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an S/4HANA IT analyst with a focus on Finance is essential.
  • Proven expertise with SAP Group Reporting is required.
  • Experience in integrating S/4HANA with other finance applications such as Concur, Quantum, and OneSource is necessary.
  • A solid technical understanding of S/4HANA Finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets, is required.
Additional Skills

  • Exceptional collaboration skills within a team, across various IT functions, and with global business partners are required.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing context with cross-border transactions and multiple legal entities is preferred.
  • Experience with a global S/4 implementation involving multiple business units and legal entities is preferred.
