Job Opportunity

MRI Technologies, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, is seeking a highly skilled System Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

This exciting opportunity is part of the JETS II Contract, where you will be working on deep space exploration projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing test cases and test scripts for software verification efforts
  • Integrating software from various vendors
  • Developing tests for dynamic physical systems
  • Developing data analysis and simulation techniques
  • Performing other duties as required

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Requisition Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test high criticality software
  • Experience with highly autonomous systems
  • Experience with web-based collaboration tools
  • Proficiency with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills, as well as a strong customer service attitude

Requisition Preferences:

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience developing software across the full development life cycle
  • Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software
  • Experience with web-based collaboration tools, including JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and SharePoint
  • Safety and flight critical software development, as well as NASA software and systems development standards

Work Environment:

The work environment is generally an office setting, but may involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Physical Requirements:

The job may require sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance:

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions:

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

As a Federal Contractor, most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation. MRI also completes a pre-screening background check for anyone offered employment.
