Medical Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Michigan Institute of Urology. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare procedure rooms for local procedures by setting up instrumentation, checking case supplies, and opening sterile instruments/supplies in an aseptic technique.
- Assist patients to the proper procedure room and recognize the importance of proper body mechanics when lifting and moving patients.
- Accurately document procedures on procedure-specific memos and use and document on the Electronic Health Record.
- Mix medications on order of the physician and demonstrate knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective equipment.
- Perform injections/installations on order of the physician and accurately draw and process blood specimens.
- Document in and maintain specimen logs, medication logs, MA lab logs, sterilization logs, and other relevant records.
- Communicate with patients and physicians/providers and document patient medical concerns in the medical record.
- Clean and complete high-level disinfection of cystoscopes and participate in the decontamination and processing of procedure instrumentation.
- Operate the autoclave, including cleaning, sterilization parameters, and maintenance of autoclave records.
- High School graduate or GED
- Medical Assistant diploma required; certification preferred
- 1 year of medical assistant office experience demonstrating competency preferred
