Job Title: Medical Assistant PRN

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication between patients and providers during patient care
  • Prepare patients for visits with providers, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, and reviewing intake paperwork
  • Responsible for completing tasks associated with company initiatives, such as PROs and Quality Payment Programs
  • Maintain exam room standards, including restocking and cleaning
  • Assist providers in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR
  • Prepare patient electronic charts for clinic visits after the date of service
  • Verify outstanding testing results and confirm patient appropriateness for providers
  • Scan clinical documents into EMR and print clinic schedules
  • Ensure patient receives education as indicated by providers
  • Manage EMR desktops of assigned providers in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management preferred
  • Graduated from a formal training program during the last 12-18 months and have the CMA certificate, or is grandfathered in as defined by State regulation
  • Active Medical Assistant certification, such as RMA, CMA, CCMA, or NCMA, with proof of current membership
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments, knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software
  • Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for meaningful use
  • BLS certification required
  • High school diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program as defined by state regulations
