Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers during patient care
  • Prepare patients for visits with healthcare providers, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, and pulling up radiology images
  • Responsible for completing tasks associated with company initiatives, such as PROs and Quality Payment Programs
  • Maintain exam room standards, including restocking rooms and cleaning as needed
  • Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace them as needed
  • Assist healthcare providers in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in the electronic medical record
  • Prepare patient electronic charts for clinic visits after the date of service
  • Verify any outstanding testing results are in the electronic medical record and confirm the appropriateness of the patient to the healthcare provider
  • Scans clinical documents into the electronic medical record
  • Print clinic schedules on the morning of the date of service
  • Ensure patients receive education as indicated by the healthcare provider
  • Manage electronic medical record desktops of assigned healthcare providers in a timely manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program as defined by state regulations
  • Active Medical Assistant certification, such as Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments, and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software
  • Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for meaningful use
  • BLS certification required
