Position Overview:
The Hazardous Materials Management Specialist is responsible for the procurement, receipt, inventory management, storage, issuance, and disposal of specialized tools, non-aircraft components, and hazardous substances as required by operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the requisition and disposal processes for specialized tools and hazardous materials in collaboration with vendors and local facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventories and ensure all special tools are in optimal working condition.
- Oversee the calibration of tools in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Issue tools to maintenance personnel and ensure their return at the end of each shift.
- Report any missing or damaged tools immediately following company protocols.
- Coordinate material requests with the supply warehouse and maintain a control register for non-aircraft parts requisitions.

- Assist in property audits and maintain a pre-expended bin (PEB) for non-COMBS materials based on usage demands.
- Track Due In From Maintenance (DIFM) items and notify management when items exceed a 7-day DIFM period.
- Research parts for alternative numbers and manage data input into computerized systems for effective material control.

HAZMAT Program Development:
- Identify requirements and establish a comprehensive HAZMAT program in compliance with local and federal standards, including ordering and tracking hazardous materials.
- Ensure the effective implementation of the HAZMAT program across all relevant areas, maintaining compliance with established procedures.

Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safe work practices in alignment with local and federal regulations.
- Regularly review and update HAZMAT, AUL, and MSDS records to ensure compliance with current standards.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of U.S. Armed Forces material control courses or two years of experience in aviation supply.
- Must meet government/company licensing and qualification requirements.
- Completion of the 24-hour Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) course is preferred.

Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in aviation supply procedures.
- Proficient in computer operations and data entry.
- Strong knowledge of tool room operations and aviation supply protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret parts catalogs and follow detailed procedures for managing tools and equipment.

Work Environment:
- The role may involve physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various environmental conditions.
- Safety equipment and protective clothing will be required when handling hazardous materials.
