Position Overview
You will function as a Supply Technician specializing in Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) within the Supply Management Division of the Naval Supply Systems Command. This role is open to qualified individuals who meet the necessary criteria.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Maintaining digital inventory records by performing regular physical counts of hazardous materials, ensuring that all stock documentation is precise and aligns with various database records.
- Handling hazardous materials using diverse types of material handling equipment and transportation vehicles designated for HAZMAT operations.
- Conducting mathematical analyses to verify the accuracy of collected data; monitoring usage statistics and investigating trends to guarantee optimal stock levels.
- Processing Authorized User Lists, validating and maintaining functions, establishing or removing items, replenishing stock, managing customer orders, and overseeing container management.
- Performing technical evaluations on all requested materials to confirm compliance with customer specifications and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector, focusing on technical supply support necessary for effective HAZMAT supply operations.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and suitable for federal employment. Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory. Candidates may be required to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This position may be eligible for part-time, substantial, or ad-hoc telework at management's discretion. A comprehensive benefits package is available for federal employees, including access to various health and retirement plans.
