Overview: A leading firm in the heavy manufacturing sector is in search of a Manufacturing Project Specialist. This role entails delivering technical assistance to a production facility, focusing on the design, execution, evaluation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and machinery, alongside product assembly at client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical insights into manufacturing and quality assurance processes, proposing enhancements.
- Calculate production costs, including labor and materials.
- Oversee equipment maintenance as necessary.
- Travel to various sites to support troubleshooting and installation efforts.
- Establish project timelines for internal monitoring.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to generate monthly key performance metrics for designated facilities.
- Address challenges related to logistics, transportation, imports/exports, or client concerns.
- Compile and present necessary reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior management to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is essential.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to engage with clients, management, and production teams.
- Capability to apply fundamental engineering principles to resolve construction engineering challenges.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Creativity in generating innovative ideas and enhancing devices to meet quality, space, weight, and cost objectives.
- Effective listening skills and the ability to clearly communicate project goals and progress.
- Proficiency in mathematics, science, and computer applications.
- A collaborative mindset with a self-motivated approach to work with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to lift medium weights (up to 60 lbs.) and perform essential job functions.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, potentially requiring significant domestic and/or international travel.
